Impact

Measure what changed.

Toyota Empowerment Trust is designed around outcomes, not activity.

Our impact framework follows three questions:

  • 01

Are more young people progressing into meaningful STEM pathways?

  • 02

Are suppliers becoming cleaner and more energy resilient?

  • 03

Are emerging suppliers becoming more mature and responsible businesses?

The most established of the three pillars, and the only one with outcomes measured across a full cohort.

  • 01

2 659+ learners reached since inception.

  • 02

    1 504 learners reached in 2026.

  • 03

79.6% of learners in the reported study cohort achieving 60%+ in mathematics after intervention.

  • 04

69.0% of learners in the reported science cohort achieving 60%+.

  • 05

136 young people in structured Toyota-linked STEM pathways.

  • 06

8 of 10 learners in the first TSAM bursary cohort who progressed into full-time Toyota employment.

Every figure on this page is published as the content brief supplies it. None has an agreed definition, reporting period, source or “as at” date attached to it.

The strategy review records a live conflict in exactly these numbers — learners appear as 1,419 in some materials and 2,659+ since inception in others. A metrics dictionary has to settle each one before publication. On an impact page this matters more than anywhere else on the site: these are the figures a sponsor will quote.

One commissioned installation, and a model that has still to demonstrate it repeats.

  • 01

Live first Renewable Energy Fund, commissioned in 2026 and running.

  • reporting quality
  • data readiness
  • ESG readiness
  • selected business-performance indicators

Impact is a journey

Some results can be measured immediately.

Others take years.

A solar installation starts generating electricity when commissioned.

A Grade 10 learner may take several years to progress through school, tertiary education and into employment.

A founder-led business may require sustained support before management routines become embedded.

Toyota Empowerment Trust is therefore designed to measure both what happened now, and what changed over time.
